The standard in its 1994 version covers 20 elements of a company's functions, omitting marketing and accounts systems. It follows the process through from once a quotation is made until the goods / services arrive with the customer. The standard looks at a company from the customer's point of view. So whilst there is no requirement for a contract to be signed by your customer, you are obliged to make a documentary note of what that customer required. Obviously you may well include within your system a check that says nothing will progress until you get a written instruction from your client and that is up to you. The standard helps you understand the needs of your customer and a system you build with Activa will not only address the standard but it will reflect your requirements to run your business aswell. In this way you can regularly and easily check that you can meet the needs of your clients and your staff are meeting your requirements for running the business.
