IIP Investors in People

Recent publication of the new Investors in People standard has raised considerable interest in organisations who previously have shied away from the standard. The new standard has been streamlined into four elements. These are commitment of the organisation, planning for development of staff, actioning of those training plans and subsequent evaluation of that training. The standard has not only helped companies motivate and develop their people, but find it easier to recruit better staff and give a more professional image in the eyes of their customers.

The IIP standard is split into 4 sections linked to the Deming cycle (although the words have changed a bit and most HR consultants would never admit a link between their work and a quality system!) These have been cut down from the previous standard, but since most readers will not currently be recognised, I will spare you the comparison.
