OK so we have a model - so what, I have seen it a million times before! What does it do and how can I use it?

Each element of the model encapsulates an input (enabler) or output (result) of your business. Once you understand what is incorporated within each section, it is then up to you how much you decide to address within each section and how much you want to get out of it. What the model allows you to do is to quantify you achievements in each section to give you an overall weighted score out of a thousand. If your company is new to the model and improvement techniques, don't be surprised if you initially score less than 100! It also allows you to compare your performance with other companies whether they are in the same industry sector as you or not (benchmarking, but we are getting way ahead of ourselves already).

Click on an element to get suggestions as to the type of criteria you could use to improve. All the way through the model, these criteria are assessed in two ways, whether you do the activity or not and whether you use the information to assess and improve your performance.

A project begins with an assessment against the model to draw a line in the sand from which to start. Then as you decide we train relevant managers in criteria and improvement techniques to develop your company against criteria.

The project is an ongoing commitment and does not lead to certification as such. The only recognition is if your scores begin to rise, you may be selected to enter competitions and win awards.
